Why Our Work Matters?

One of the most pressing issues facing the AAPI community is the significant lack of representation in government. 

Despite being the fastest-growing demographic in America, AAPIs are among the least represented in elected offices. This underrepresentation contributes to a feeling of disconnection from the political system within the community. The Reflective Democracy Campaign highlights this disparity, noting that AAPI individuals are underrepresented in the political system by a factor of 85 percent, holding less than 1 percent of all elected positions.

Communities with limited representation in government often struggle to have their voices heard and their concerns addressed. To address this, the AAPI Advocacy Alliance aims to boost the presence of AAPI individuals in government by empowering the next generation of leaders and providing them with the tools and resources needed for success in their future endeavors.
